On October 1th Nicolas Ghesquière showed his second collection (since Marc Jacobs’ departure) for Louis Vuitton. On the catwalk for Spring Summer 2015 we saw very wearable yet sophisticated creations, to continue the mood that characterized Ghesquière’s very first collection for the Maison.

Mini-dresses are worn with ankle boots or knee high boots. The leather items are shiny and have bright colored stripes. The cropped pants (knee length) are straight and worn with light tops and dark jackets. High waisted dark denim pants and velvet suits with colored prints remind the seventies.

Oh, and let’s not forget the show location. Louis Vuitton not only changed creative director but the Maison also inaugurated its very own show location: the Fondation Louis Vuitton, designed by architect, Frank Gehry, located on the site of the Jardin d’acclimatation in the Bois the Boulogne.

The Fondation Louis Vuitton will be principally associated with artistic creation in all its forms. At the heart of the spaces, the public will be invited to discover the permanent collection made up of works belonging to the Fondation or the Arnault collection, as well as temporary exhibitions – two a year – and musical events in the auditorium.
