“This collection is a wardrobe of pieces. It is a series of specific statements that play with colour and print for women, and a new idea of staple items for men.” Tomas Maier, Creative Director.
An exploration of colour, material and silhouette, including the first ever Bottega Veneta Early Fall Men’s collection. For women, contrasts of bold colour and eccentric pattern, combined with elements of functional beauty. Lightness and fluidity are everything, especially with pleats for both movement and distortion.
For men, a fresh focus on the essentials of the season, with monochromatic looks using diverse fabrics and treatments. New masculine proportions in shadow-dyed cotton, Japanese denim, needle-punched wool and waxed leather. “I wanted this collection to have a lightness, so that it can be worn right through the summer to the first months of fall.”
Accessories for women include new geometric leather bags – cube, cylinder, bucket – that are part-constructed and part-soft, with a drawstring closure.
Pumps have a pointed toe, while little quilted house slippers come in a petite floral print. Jewellery combines enamel with silver.
For men, calfskin briefcases and document carriers are shadow-printed with checks, while nappa leather totes are partially woven and embroidered.
Desert boots are in calf suede, while lace-up boots and slip-on sneakers come in different shades of calf hair.
“Everything we do at Bottega Veneta is about quality, innovation and special techniques. Every detail is there for a reason, in each piece we create.”
